The Worthington turbine pumps for high head service are described and illustrated in a new bulletin, designated as W-602, which has been issued by the Worthington Pump and Machinery Corporation, New York City. Printed on a heavy paper which shows the illustrations of pumps to excellent advantage, the booklet presents in a notably attractive manner chapters on The Turbine Pump, Principle of Operation, Characteristics of Turbine Pumps, Hydraulic Balance, Double Suction Turbine Pumps, Two-Stage Volute Pumps, Method of Drive, Field of Application, Mining Pumps, Elevator and House Pumps, Hydraulic Mining, Fire Pumps, Boiler Feed Pumps and Sugar House Pumps, besides a chapter entitled Water Works. One illustration in the booklet shows a 24-inch two-stage turbine pump, 20 million gallons.
