Firefighters from six stations are tackling the fire at a barn containing a tractor and 200 tonnes of baled hay
Firefighters are tackling a huge blaze at a barn in Stoke Golding which contains a tractor and 200 tonnes of baled hay.
Fire crews from six stations have been involved in fighting the fire in Higham Lane, Stoke Golding, with smoke reportedly billowing into the air. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said it had received several calls from members of the public about the fire, with the first call received shortly after 11pm on Sunday night (August 28).
Crews from Hinckley, Market Bosworth and Nuneaton rushed to the scene and have been joined by a water carrier from Loughborough, a medium volume pump from Market Harborough and a command support vehicle from Wigston.
The barn is a large one measuring 20 metres by 50 metres, and firefighters have placed two hose reels at each end to protect the surrounding area. They are drawing water from a nearby canal using a light portable pump.
Police are in attendance and are organising road closures and diversions.

Leicestershire Fire Control have confirmed they are still at the scene, and that the farmer had to rescue his animals from the barn prior to them arriving.
