The Village of Angel Fire has announced there will be a temporary water outage due to mechanical issues with two of the village's main water wells.
According to the village, a pump that supplies the wells with water needs to be replaced. The village is working to provide a solution. The water outage is only impacting residents on the west side of Angel Fire, but village officials are also preparing for a potential water outage on the east side of the village.
The mayor of Angel Fire says they anticipate several businesses and homes will be without water in the next few hours. The National Guard will be providing water trucks to help distribute water within the village.
Village officials say widespread outages could last from 12 to 24 hours.
There will be staging areas throughout the village where residents can pick up water for toilet flushing.
Drinking water will be available at Fire Station #1 at 11 Bill Burgess Road in Angel Fire.
