Indiana County first responders were kept busy yesterday with several different calls across the area.
At 10:23 AM yesterday, Indiana Fire Association Members were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of Maple Street in White Township for a report of a car on fire endangering a mobile home. A quick response from fire crews resulted in the fire being extinguished quickly, with little damage to the car and no damage to the structure. No injuries were reported.
An automatic fire alarm was reported in Burrell Township at 7:12 PM, with crews being dispatched to Wyoming Drive across from Pine Ridge Park. The call brought out Black Lick, Blairsville, and Coral-Graceton fire departments. The call turned out to be a false alarm, as Black Lick fire officials said the alarm was triggered due to some dry wall work going on nearby.
A structure fire was also reported last night at 10:28 PM on Adams Street in Clymer Borough. Clymer, Cherryhill, Commodore and Hope fire departments were dispatched along with Citizens Ambulance at the time. Chief John Gromley said that the fire was electrical in nature when a water line sprayed water onto the electric panel, shorting the electric out and causing some smoke. No injuries were reported. Crews were on scene to pump water out and to ventilate the smoke. The family was just moving in and they are staying elsewhere right now.
