Sutton Fire Logs, week of May 2-8

3:09 a.m.: Structure Fire – Mendon Road. Fire crews responded to a reported residential building fire. Upon arrival, an attached garage was fully involved and was close to extension into the main structure. A quick knockdown of the fire kept it to the garage area.  Mutual aid was called in to assist with water supply. 

1:04 p.m.: Medical Emergency – Church Street. Duty crew and MedStar ALS responded for a medical alert button activation. No EMS required; person was testing unit and company wasn’t supposed to dispatch.

6:30 p.m.: Structure Fire – Manchaug Road. Fire crews responded for a reported smoke coming from the residence, unknown as to why. Upon arrival, it was reported to have been caused by food on the stove and no active fire. Station 2 handled, and all others were backed off.

11:33 p.m.: Fire Alarm Investigation – Putnam Hill Road. Fire crews responded for alarms sounding in the residence and no smoke or fire visible. Upon arrival, C-5 reported the alarms had since stopped and unable to find any reason for activation.

2:40 p.m.: Medical Emergency – Irma Jones Road. Duty crew and MedStar ALS responded for a medical alert button activation. It was set off in error; no service needed.

11:05 p.m.: Fire Alarm Investigation – Dudley Road. Fire crews responded for a commercial fire alarm activation with no answer on call-back. After investigation, C-3 reports that there is an issue with the fire pump house, and that a technician needs to service system.

12:18 a.m.: Motor Vehicle Crash – Duval Road. Fire crews were dispatched for a motor vehicle that had gone off the roadway and was now smoking and an odor of fuel. C-5 reports that there were no injuries or fuel spill, and the smoke was steam from the radiator.

8:04 p.m.: Motor Vehicle Crash – Worcester-Providence Turnpike. Duty crew responded to the area near Route 146 North at Marble for a three-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, MedStar had come up on the incident, and there were no injuries.

11:05 a.m.: Odor Investigation – Main Street. Duty crew investigated a reported odor in the area. After investigation, it was found to be from a furniture manufacturing company, and all filtering systems were working properly.

10:56 p.m.: Mutual Aid to Mendon – Uxbridge Street. The Communications Team was activated to respond with the Field Communications Unit to the town of Mendon to assist with the Dive Team activation for a vehicle in the water.

1:12 p.m.: Outside Fire – Manchaug Road. Fire crews responded to the residence for an illegal outside burn that had gotten out of control. The fire was quickly contained and the area wet down to ensure no reigniting due to the windy conditions.
